Hi all, have lurked on the forum and been a Vonage customer for over 3 years, since May of 2004. I have the original VT1000 telephone adapter and recently have been having trouble with it. It repeatedly loses connection. Usually in this case we still have internet connectivity, so the MTA is still passing thru the connection. When this happens, the LED is doing the "4 blink" sequence. Usually a single reboot of the MTA will fix the problem, but as it is happening with increasing frequency - multiple times per week, sometimes per day - this is not a good solution. THe problem started about 3-4 weeks ago. I have no other problems with the service.

I have the same problem.
I'm with Bell Sympatico here in Ontario.
I've been with Vonage since Oct. 2004.
About 1 month ago, my original VT1002 started losing connection. Rebooting the MTA seems to help... but the connection repeatly starts to go down.
My internet is still ok during this time.
After 1 call to my internet provider and 2nd call to Vonage they agreed to send me a new adapter.
I will let you know once i get the new adapter whether it fixes the problem. |

Interesting; I wonder if us both experiencing problems starting at the same time is coincidence or not. Was there a firmware update recently? What did you have to say to Vonage to get them to send you a new adapter? |

I've been having a similar issue since Tuesday night. I thought it was my ISP at first but I bypassed my router for a day, which is the RTP300, and had no problems. With it plugged it I'm losing my internet connection about every 3-4 hours or so.
I was going to upgrade the firmware but of course that function is locked out by Vonage. I haven't had any problems in the past. |
