Hello all,
We are having problems with our phones always flashing showing there are Messages Waiting. We just switched phones, but the problem still exists. (went from a 5.8 mhz to a 6.0 digital phone) We are not hard wired - both phone sets were cordless.
Any ideas? We thought maybe the phones were the cause, but since it still happens with a brand new phone - I'm thinking not...

Does this happen when there are no messages waiting to be heard? I have found that I had to actually delete messages before my cordless 8100 vtech stopped flashing. |

I know on my RT31P2 router i had to actually press * before hanging up to exit the VMS or the light would keep flashing. |

On my Motorola VT2542, saving or deleting the message is the only way to get the stuter tone and the blinking indicator on the device to stop. |

We've tried doing dummy calls just so we'd have something to delete. That has worked before - but not this time.
We have a LinkSys Router that Vonage sent us.
I'll keep trying - thanks! |

If your voicemail inbox is empty of any new messages that you have already saved or deleted, more than likely you will have to contact Vonage customer support to correct this.
Do you also get the stutter tone when you take the phone off the hook along with the blinking indicator? |

It is also common to find that rebooting your adapter (I have a PAP2 now, but it has worked with others as well) will clear that out. Seems we get a "stuck" message light at least a few times a month (no stutter dialtone, by the way, just the flashing light). I pull the power cord to the adapter, count to 5, plug it back in, and presto -- flashing light is gone! Annoying? Yep, but I can live with it! |
