OK, the FAQ's say you need to forward some UDP ports (5060 – 5061 & 10000 – 20000). I have the Linksys RT31P2 router, and it is connected directly to my cable modem. Do I still need to forward these ports? When I look at my router log, I see all sorts of traffic on these ports, all directed to the LAN side IP (67.10.11.xxx) not the WAN side (192.188.15.xx). I am having some voice quality issues and wonder if this could be the problem. If I need to forward them, what IP do I forward them to? Will the QoS menu item in the router config help any? I have it at the defualt. Any help is appreciated. |

Yes - you do not need to do any port forwarding. This is only if you are behind a router. Currently you are connect directly to your cable modem, so there are no ports to forward. You might play with the QoS settings in the Linksys.

I've put my RT31P2 behind my dlink DI-524 and had didn't do any forwarding and all works fine! Am I gonna mess anything up besides QOS? Seems to work fine. I am doing all of my routing off of the DI-524.
Want it this way because I'm gonna mess with Sipura 3000 for a while with FWD. |

Not necessary! You should be all set with the defaults for Voip, and not need to forward any ports. At least, it's working for me. |
