I have a program called GrandCentral and you can have voice mail for family, friends, work and others. You have a directory online and you set it up with people's phone numbers and decide which category they fall in. You set up an voice mail message for each category.
Vonage has a couple of message options but too much of a challenge to set them up.
Would also like the option of calling the number from the Vonage dashboard calling activity page, I guess I can hi-light the number and use click to call.

Yeah the address book, and the ability to tailor messages is very cool. It would be great if Vonage could expand their usability/features to cover what GrandCentral offers, but that really isn't a realistic hope right now.
For those who might not know, GrandCentral is a forwarding service (they give you a free number) that I think would work very well with Vonage, if you can stand adding another number into your equation. It really fills in some of the gaps of Vonage's feature set. Using GrandCentral as a proxy (forwarder) to your Vonage number (or any number), you get:
Proper call blocking (by number) and call screening, call recording, a 'listen-in' feature which allows you to hear a voicemail as it's being left with the ability to connect to the call, and some other things. All of which is easily set up through their website.
Their future should be guaranteed for a while now that Google has bought them. I just hope Google doesn't alter their service much.
