wow- first post, already frazzled
i signed up for Vonage online on friday a.m.
as of today monday p.m. order is "completed" but ref number doesn't track in UPS yet
realised that a wireless Vonage version of the linksys adaptor was available in retail stores, and would much rather have this than the one Vonage is sending me
called Vonage, asked if they could cancel the one shipping to me (no), or if i could just go and get the wireless one, activate it on my existing account, and then return the one they are sending me when it arrives.
the response to this was- yes, BUT you can't activate it until you get the one being shipped to you, then activate that one, then call up Vonage and do a MAC switch to the new one... quite frankly i would like to be using it tonight and not in two weeks when UPS gets here.
i am tempted to go ahead, buy the wireless router, activate it on a new account, and then cancel the old account when the Vonage unit arrives if i can't call and ask them to activate it for me. FYI i am not doing a number transfer.
called two different times to make sure i was getting the right story- they should really offer the wireless unit online, and offer some faster shipping options as well.
on the plus side, i only had a brief wait each time for CS (although the very first time i rang, i got a BUSY SIGNAL)

I'm in the same boat as I got a wireless router after they shipped the non-wireless router. Is it possible to clone the MAC address on the wireless to make it look like the router they shipped?
I gave this a try, but it doesn't appear to work. |
