Came home and no dial tone. Has worked for over 18 mos.
Removed power for a min. No help. Rebooted both DSL modem/router and phone adapter. No help.
Reset phone adapter using button on back of unit. No help.
Based on the lights on the front of unit, Adapter appears to be rebooting evey few seconds.
Try to log in to web interface. Can get the logon prompt, but when I imput the name and password, nothing happens. Just times out.

Any ideas?

It sounds like the RTP300 has gone bad, but before we jump to that conclusion, please post all the technical details listed in the sticky message at the top of the forum. Re-setting everything was good, but try it again to be sure. First hold the RTP300 button in for at least 30 seconds. Then power everything down, and power back up. First DSL modem, then RTP300, then computer.

Where is your computer plugged in? To the DSL modem/router or into the RTP300? How is the internet service?

Loc: Austin, Tx
ISP: SWBELL DSL
UPLoad: 535k
DnLoad: 5.3mb
Modem: Westell
Adapter: Linksys RTP300
Setup: Adapter is behind the modem/router. I do not use the router function of the adapter. Only thing plugged into the adapter is the phone.

I did the 30 sec reset. No help. Went thru a lot of different resets and the unit appears to be rebooting every 5-10 sec. I have rebooted my whole system several times. Nothing seems to work. I have come to the conclusion that the adapter is bad. Guess I will break down and buy a new one. Not sure which one to get. Don't need a router, just a phone adapter. Will look at the different models and see what is not too expensive.

I just ran into the same problem with my RTP300. We had a bad thunderstorm go through and we lost power briefly. Now, cable modem/router seem to be fine. Vonage router (linksys RTP300) keeps going up and down. I tried power cycle with 10 sec. gap, reset (hold for 10 sec), reset (hold for 30 sec) and it doesnt seem to do the trick. Is it really toast?

Loc: Nashua, NH

DnLoad: 8 mb
Modem: Motorola Surfboard
Adapter: Linksys RTP300
Setup: Adapter is behind the modem/router. I do not use the router function of the adapter. Only thing plugged into the adapter is the phone.

It looks like my RTP 300 is toast. I setup a ping to the router which was connected directly to my mac. It keeps going on and off. Sometimes it works but then it fails again.

Any recommendations on what hardware I should replace it with? I have a Buffalo router as my wireless base and the RTP300 was only serving my phone needs.

The local bestbuy/staples have only two models PAP2 and the WRTP54G. Since I dont need wireless - I am inclined to go with the PAP2 unless it has some serious issues?

The PAP2 is a good choice. If you want to order through Vonage (or can find it elsewhere), the D-link VTA is another good choice.
