I have a question regarding the V-Me feature. Since my number is long distance for my friend to call me and there is no local V-Access number I gave him the link to call me using the V-Me feature.
I noticed on my dashboard that he called me at 10:53 am today, but there is an outgoing call saying I transferred this same number. First time I noticed this. |

Of course if you have the Unlimited plan, it wouldn't matter. My guess is the way they handle it is to treat it as a transfer. I don't know why though. |

I have the unlimited plan so that isn't an issue for me. I called Vonage Canada regarding the V-Me and they tell me that it isn't supported in Canada, I think what they mean is there is no tech support for it. |

When they use your v-me does your caller id show up on their phone? If it does, what is there to keep people from entering a lot of random numbers in there to make it look like your placing a bunch of prank calls at 3 in the morning? |

If you choose NOT to have it shown, an alternate toll free number, that when called directly, leads back to a voicemail system that's in no way linked to your Vonage phone number. (Or so it was the last time I checked.) |

I have it set up so just my name is shown on the link they click on. I am not sure what shows up on the call display on the user's phone. |

An 800 number shows up on the user's phone display. |

I had another V-Me call and you are correct it is an 877 number. It still shows that the number was transferred by me so for people who don't have the unlimited package these calls are counted as minutes.
The person who is calling me I see there name and number in the caller id section on the phone so no good trying to make prank calls, but then again anyone can enter a fake number in the program, but I only give this out to friends. |
