Post subject: delay/echo/latency issue!! latest Linksys PAP2 router FW?
Hello all, I just setup my
Vonage
last week with the Linksys PAP2 router. I am experiencing a delay/echo/latency (however it is referred) when I talk on my end.
My setup is as follows: Linksys wired router; Linksys wireless AP; VTech wireless 900 Mhz phone; and a Panasonic wired phone
I have the QOS and all specific ports recommend configured on the router. I am still experiencing this 'delay' when I speak...even when using the wired phone. I have even moved the phone away from the wireless AP.
I have heard that a firmware upgrade may help. Is this true? Anyone experience anything similiar?
HELP!!!!

Your PAP2 shipped with the new firmware. There also isn't any new firmwares for that device. I would upgrade the firmware of the AP and the Linksys router.
Also what is the model cable modem you have? (for example Motorola SB 5120).
All else fails call the ISP and tell them you are having latency on your end. Quite possibly the SNR is too low and they will need to send a tech out to your location.
