Used WiFi UTStarcom F1000 purchase on Ebay

Anyone give me some advice about purchasing a UTStarcom F1000 WIFI Telephone. I recently purchased a v-phone on ebay and added it to my account using the activation link on the vonage website.
That process went smoothly enough that now I'd like to bid on a used UTStarcom F1000 WIFI Telephone on ebay. I know that the owner needs to remove the mac id from their vonage account as well as pay off any outstanding debt. Are there any additional considerations on the Vonage side of doing this that might be a problem. Has anyone purchased any used equipment successfully?

Placed a bid on a used WiFi phone on eBay. Prior to bidding asked the seller if they had removed the MAC ID from their account even though the seller’s Vonage account had been closed. Also asked if there was ANY outstanding debt on that Vonage account.
Already had a Vonage account with a single phone number/device on that account. The phone cost about $58.00 shipped. It came with a single charged battery, phone, and charger. Have used it successfully for about 10 days and have been very happy with the phone.
Here are a few suggestions if you decide to buy a Vonage device on eBay.
1. Buy from seller with 97% or better rating on eBay.
2. If you have never used eBay, advise that you DO NOT buy Vonage this way.
3. Ask if they are the original owner of device.
4. Have the seller contact Vonage to have the MAC id removed from their account even if the account has been closed.
5. Ask if the have any outstanding debt on Vonage account.
6. Don’t advise you buy device if the seller displays the MAC ID in their photos of the phone/device.
