Hi,
What I have found to be the best solution for me was to just return the defective routers -- and I ent out a purchased a D Link VTA from Wall Mart. Problem solved. I also purchased a Belkin wireless router to which the VTA is attached -- and have had no problems since.
When the power goes off -- the security settings remain intact when the power returns and the VTA just works great.
Blessings

Just wanted to give a final update on this thread.
Vonage has taken care of all the difficulties and has more than satisfactorily fixed all the problems -- up to this point.

Did you replace the DLINK VWR router? Was there any fix offered by Vonage for the VWR resetting and losing its security settings? I'm about to return my VWR router too, unless there's a fix for it. Thanks, Ken. |

Hi Ken, At the time I called tech support they told me that that was a known problem with their D LInk wireless routers. They said that their engineers were working on a solution, but did not know when the solution would come.
I contacted D Link directly and explained to them what the problem was and they told methat it was more or less up to Vonage to take care of it with updates etc.
So I sent the D LInk VWR and the two VT2542 wireless routers back to Vonage and purchased a Belkin wireless router and a D LInk VTA from Wall-Mart and everything is working just great.
HTHs

Just received second Motorola VT2542. Power cycle or reboot causes loss of security settings, router username and reserved static ip addresses.
I note that the Vonage d-link router also has this problem.. What is Vonage doing to the routers and why can the not fix this. |
