I just signed up with Vonage and I have to say I am very impressed with the voice quality of my calls. The only thing I am having a problem with is that I cannot do anything using the internet while im on the telephone. I even have the bandwidth saver set as low as it will go. Still not even able to open a web page. Not sure if this has anything to do with it or not but I have my cable modem plugged into my wireless router and I have a cat5 cable running from one of the ethernet ports on my wireless router to the port labeled "internet" on the linksys router that Vonage sent me. I did a speed test and the results were ...
1113 KBPS DOWN 201 KBPS UP
Any Suggestions? |

just a guess, but if you login to the device (typically at 192.168.15.1) and go to QoS settings (under applications and gaming), you might try disabling the voice qos and see if it helps at all. of course your call quality could suffer as well. the manual voice qos is set to 256kbps as default, which is about what your upload speed is. so you could also try changing it to automatic if it's set on manual. |

I tried that and than I ended up with no dial tone ... I switched it all back to the way it was and now I have no dial tone and the phone light on the linksys isn't lit up. |

that's odd, I've changed mine a bunch with no problems. it should come back after a bit, but you might try hitting the reset button on the back of the device. |

i just did that and its working again ... still the problem with not being able to use the internet while on the phone though ... do you think this would have anything to do with having the wireless router plugged into it? |
