My Vonage Experience:
I signed up not because I would save money, saving $50 on a phone bill is nothing when that phone is your source of income and the only way your customers can contact you.
I have a mobile auto glass business and receive over 100 phone calls a day. Well bellsouth managed to screw my bill up every single month and even though they would apologize and credit my account it still kept me on the phone with them for about an hour a month and had me looking over a bill with a fine tooth comb. This became a hassle and Vonage was offering a phone for less money, with unlimited usage and a high quality service.
Since signing up Vonage has had several system wide failures, my phone goes straight to my voicemail without ringing for hours at a time, sometimes it gives customers a disconnect notice, call quality has been poor to aweful at times and dropped calls have become the norm. I have called customer service on several times and usually the hold time is extremely long, the customer service rep is rude or simply not helpful. They always go through a trouble shooting process that is never helpful. When I finally get fed up and ask what I need to do to cancel they will try to push the trouble shooting or simply hang up. I have tried to cancel several times and they make it as difficult as possible. I would just go through my bank to stop payment but I need this number. I could call Bellsouth and let them switch the number back over but Vonage blocks the request.
Basically the funny Vonage commercials and over promising from Vonage is costing me time and money. I spend thousands every month in advertising so customers will call me and when they decide to pick up the phone they can't get in touch with me or I am dropping calls.
Vonage, I hate you with a passion and I will be posting on numerous message boards the problems I am having. Every time a customer has trouble getting in touch with me or a call gets dropped I will telll them about the mistake I made. Friends, families and any chance I have to talk about the short comings of Vonage I will go out of my way. You know what, they can have there monthly bill, I will just resort to forwarding my calls to a bellsouth line until I can get this resolved but they can rest assured that my complaints and problems will be read by thousands of potential customers. |
