I forwarded my Vonage phone to my cell phone today because I was going out and didn't want to miss an important call.
My cell phone rang, but no one was there. I am glad I had call display on the cell phone. When I returned home I had 1 message, the call I missed. I went to hear the message, but there was no message, the message was 10 to 15 seconds long.
First time I used call forwarding. |

you should keep your vonage device on and connected to the internet so that you can use call forwarding..i suggest you activate the network availability and not call forwarding |

I did have my vonage device on and connected to the internet. I dialed *72 on my vonage phone and entered the phone number I wanted it to be forwarded to, it is also the same number in case I lose internet connection.
I dialed *73 when I came home to deactivate it. |

My call forwarding works like a charm and always has since the day I started using it.
I set mine up using my secure Vonage internat page. In fact I just always have mine on.
I set mine to forward to my cell phone after ringing at home for 30 seconds. If no one answers it at home after 30 seconds it forwards to my cell phone. I have my Vonage voice mail set to kick in after 35 seconds. If I did not answer the call when it was forwarded to my cell after 35 seconds it would then be answered by my Vonage voice mail. However because my cell phone voice mail answers after 30 seconds of my cell phone ringing my cell phone voice mail will handle answering the call unless it is malfunctioning, which in that case my Vonage voice mail has it covered.
I vary the length of time my voice mail kicks in and also vary the length of time I have the phone ring at home before if forwards to my cell phone. Sometimes my daughter who is a nurse and works nights is home sleeping so then I just set my call forward to forward to my cell phone after 1 second (one ring).
My cell phone also acts as my number which will ring should my Vonage service be down. |
