SInce around 7PM June 9th, PST. my Vonage has been down.
No dial tone, not a clue from the overseas tech support "team".
VTECH 8100-1 after a power down, for HOURS would not even light a red or yellow light or even act like it was functional.
Now, several hours later it is bouncing between red and yellow, active network lights, yet no dial tone.
Does ANYONE know of Time Warner problems in this area? This is our ONLY home phone and its been down over a day now with no end in sight.
Have run all the Voip tests... all in the "normal results" area.
Sad... I thought I could count on this service, and it is a good value, IF you could get support when it crashes. This is the first major outage I have experienced and it is making me RUN not WALK back to hard lines.
Broadband Internet is working normally.
All help greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Bob |

If not already done, do a hard reset on your Vonage device, hold the reset button in for a few seconds and let it all restart. |

Already have completed a reset several times. No effect.
At this point, with the total lack of intelligent technical support, and my only "choice" to go spend more money on a new adapter that likely will not work, my choice is leaning toward immediate cancellation.
Thanks for your reply. |

If you have a friend with broadband internet through a different ISP, or even at a location outside your neighborhood, you might want to try the 8100 there. Unfortunately, it sounds like the unit has had it.
Rather than just cancel, you might want to call the business office and tell them that that's your next move if they can't get you up and running. For what it's worth, I prefer the simplest Vonage adapter with a phone or phones of my choice rather than things like Voip phones. |
