I get this "Incomplete Data" message 100% of the time on incoming calls. The only time it works flawlessly is when I am already on the phone and I have call waiting - then the caller-id works fine. I have a few different businesses that fwd calls into my one line so it's imperative for me to have caller-id so I know how to answer the phone!

This has been an extremely annoying issue for me. I thought it was my phone so I've tried different phones and nothing seems to work. The caller-id on my vonage account works so I can't understand why the data isn't being passed to my phone.

Can anyone confirm the firmware upgrade matters? anyone have a work-around that works?

Help!

Thanks,
David

Still getting the "incomplete data" message - even when testing with my cell phone. Did what vonage recommended twice - rebooted modem/router/adapter. Even unplugged phone cradle for sh*ts-n-gigles. Nothing.

Hi.

I got the same issue. I just install my Vonage line this weekend.

I got the same behavior from another member of the board: ie 100% incomplete data, got the correct ID when on the phone (Call Waiting feature), got correct Caller ID when the person use "V-Access".

I got a Linksys PAP2 v2.0, i see that Vonage has change the firmware (.22), when they activate my line.

Maybe it's the culprit?!?

I'm from Canada, using Videotron as my ISP.

The only reason I try Vonage is because I want Caller ID!

If it's not resolve soon, I will cancel my account before the end of the "trial" period...

Like it for all it's other features, but need at least the number calling... Even if the name is not displayed!!!

We have been with Vonage for over 5 years and have never had this problem until about 4 weeks ago. Over 80% of the calls that come in are "INCOMPLETE DATA".

If this is not fixed we will be moving our 2 lines to AT&T for our VOIP service.

Hi.

Just wondering: Is the phone number displayed on your screen is in the format "1xxxyyyzzzz" or "xxxyyyzzzz"?

Is that the normal format (1xxxyyyzzzz) Vonage send his caller id phone number in any case (local and long distance number)?

Because my cordless telephone could not find the number displayed in his phonebook (to display the name I want). I try 1xxxyyyzzzz, xxxyyyzzzz, yyyzzzz. Nada, niet. It only show (sometime) the number Vonage send.

Is it possible that my telephone need to receive the caller id number in 10 digit format (xxxyyyzzzz without the first "1") instead of the current 11 digits number (1xxxyyyzzzz)???

Cheers,

Joel.

Thank you for choosing Vonage, the #1 rated digital phone service!

I understand your Caller ID displays "Incomplete Data" when a call is received.

I have refreshed the line properties of your Vonage device. For the changes to take effect please reboot all your devices by following the steps in the web link given below:

http://www.vonage.com/help.php?article=425

Make a test call and check if the issue is resolved.

Please follow the troubleshooting steps given below:

1. Replace the 2-line phone with a regular Caller ID phone and make a test call.

2. Connect the phone directly to the phone port on your Vonage device.

If the issue persists we would like you to try different Caller ID phone also let us know on which phone number you are experiencing this issue.

If you have any questions, your Vonage team is available to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Contact us whenever and however it suits you!

- On-Line Help Center at http://www.vonage.com/help.php
- Contact Us at http://www.vonage.com/help_contactus.php
- Or call Toll-Free at 1-VONAGE-HELP (1-866-243-4357)

Thanks again for choosing Vonage, a better phone service for less!

Sincerely,

Vonage Customer Care

*************

This is what I received from technical support. "Incomplete Data" still pops up but at about 30% of the time instead of 80% of the time.

I am going to look into AT&T VOIP for comparison.
