The Linksys WIP330 VOIP phone is great, with the one exception that it cannot hold a charge more than 5 hours.
I have sent back two phones now and both were new.
I charge them overnight each time and initially charged 24 hours.
Neither phone can hold a charge over 5 hours in the field and I cannot make more than about 15 minutes of phone conversation without it losing it's charge. This is not acceptable since I am in the field for 8 hours a day installing wireless Internet and the product, for over $300 should be similar to a typical cell phone which can last up to four days on standby and certainly should give the user more than 60 minutes or more of conversation.
This phone does neither. On the good side, it is easy to use, setup, finds 802.11 access fast, and has great voice quality, etc.
But for $300 you do not even get a speaker on it or a camera. I expected a speaker and was sorely dissapointed.
In addition, the first WIP330 would not release the battery from inside the back of the phone. Sorry Cisco, but you really should recall all of these phones. |

It is probably a dumb question, this being the Vonage Forum but I am asking for a direct statement...you installed the 330 via your vonage account? Did you have to use the DID on the Vonage account? You got the IB and OB proxy IPs from Vonage which relate to your current DID on your Vonage account?..that is what I am thinking but would like to be clear.
Thanks |

If the WIP330 is on Vonage, then it is very likely on a soft phone account (you do get the SIP information for that). The WIP330 looks good, but the internal operation looks more like a PC than a phone - so it chews up battery capacity quickly. The WIP300 is a little bit better in that respect - it will last thhrough an 8-hour day on standby, but never overnight. The Utstarcom phones (F1000G or F3000) are a lot better and will last two or three days. |
