Hi,

I just got my V-phone and it is my only house phone. I like that it's cheaper than Verizon and I can call pretty much anywhere I want. The problem is that the incoming ring sounds the same as it does when you are making an out going call. It's that very subtle, low tone ring and when I am not in my computer room I cannot hear it ring. I've turned the sound up but it really doesn't help.

I tried changing it in settings however, I can only use 8kHz, 16-bit mono or 16 kHz, 16 bit mono wav files....Where the heck do I get those?? The regular windows bells, whistles and dings are not supported by the V-phone.
It's very frustrating. I have the option to change the sound but I don't know where to find sound clips that are suitable.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Simply change the Ringing audio interface in the Settings Window to use the interface name that represents the built-in speakers on your PC.

Look, I know where the settings are and how to change the sound. That wasn't my question, at all. Thanks for the attempt at an answer and all but you, obviously, didn't read my question. This is frustrating enough because even with my speakers moved closer to the door of my computer room I still tend to not hear the subtle ring. Cry

What I was asking is... how or where do I find a tone that will fit in the limits set forth by the settings section...IE, the Supported ringer WAV file formats 8-kHz, 16-bit Mono or the 16-kHz, 16-bit mono. As listed on the settings page.
I have plenty of WAV files but they are not the right format and, therefore cannot be used. I know this because when I have tried to chage the tone, I get the error message, "Unsupported audio file format". Argh!!! Mad

My question is where do I find WAV files of that format OR how do I change one of my WAV files to the specified format?

So, if anyone really knows I sure would like assistance with this.

Thank you in advance
Smile
