1) Can some tell me if the Linksys WRT54GP2, Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router with Vonage supports Speedbooster?
2) If it doesn't, any education on why would be greatly appreciated.
3) I'm trying to decide if a WRT54GS plus Linksys Vonage Router combo would be better than the WRT54GP2 if I want to take advantage of the higher speed of the SpeedBooster.
4) Does SpeedBooster offer that much more real world transfer speed than non-SpeedBooster?
Thanks for the support. Sure glad there are forums like this.

Thanks for the reply.
I returned the WRT54Gp2 and purchased the Linksys PAP2 and will purchase the WRT54GS seperately.
Just makes sense to keep them seperate, gain the SpeedBooster, as well as Sveasoft capability.
Thanks. |

Yes, but the speedbooster only affects the transmission of the packets. The negotiation and acks are still at 'g' speeds. I.e. don't expect the speedbooster to double all activity, more like speed up large data transfers. |

The Sveasoft firmware for the WRT54 is a definite advantage. I, too, am looking at purchasing similar hardware. It kinda subscribes to my feeling of separate units, so that in case of failure, I don't lose all functionality. It does make for more complex configuration, but then if you're reading this forum, it shouldn't be that difficult. |
