The newer vTech phones are cheap quality. Tech support which used to be good now is terrible. The "techs" are not knowledgeable and seem to be lost when asked a question. The so-called techs are not outsourced to some 3rd world country, they are here in the US. If tech support is bad, how is their warranty and repair service????
No more vTech products for me.... I would like to hear from others about vTech.

What v-Tech do you have? I have one with 3 phones and it works fantastic. What kind of tech support do you need for a phone? Pose the question on here.

I've got a two-phone VTECH 5.8 cordless with answering machine.
No issues - one of the best phones I've ever had.

It was the least expensive product in this category I found and I have no complaints. At least so far, so good.

I just bought a new Vtech DECT 6.0 multi-handset phone to replace my Vtech 5.8 mhz phone that I've had for 4 years with NO trouble. The ONLY reason I bought new phones was that it cost the same as replacing the batteries! I've also bought Vtech for my technology challenged parents and they've had trouble in 3 years. Vtech phones have been a solid quality performer for me. My only complaint is that they don't have headphone jacks on the new phones.

I can't speak to their tech support since I've never had a problem with the phones!

I use a Vtech 5.8GHz cordless phone (I5871) and it's the best phone I've ever had. Not only is it uniquely designed and loaded with features, but I literally got it for a steal on clearance at an Office Depot. The phone retails for $149.99 but I was able to purchase it for $48.10 after taxes.

One question I'd like to ask other Vtech users. On the base unit there is a new message indicator, when you receive a new voice-mail to your Vonage line does the voice-mail indicator on your base unit blink? I'm guessing since I disabled the answering machine option on the I5871 is why the new message indicator light does not blink.

If you purchased a system with an answering machine, the message light will not light up for Vonage or Telco provided voicemail systems, only for the answering machine. That's one of the reasons I bought Vtech to start. They are one of the few companies that make a cordless system without an answering machine built in. The message indicator on my Vtech phones both work well with Vonage voicemail.

I have no idea why there aren't more companies manufacturing phones without answering machines built in. Most only leave them off their lower end phones. My dream is to find a DECT 6.0 multi-handset, 2 line cordless phone that has a headphone jack on the handsets and NO answering machine built in. So far it doesn't exist.

I have a wireless network (Linksys router) and just bought the vtech 6.0 4 handset set from Costco. Right now it is totally useless! Lots of interference when the phones work and the extension handsets dont even work unless they are 2 feet from the base. They keep saying "connecting" when away from base. Here is my setup -- I have the Linksys router, cable modem (ComcastDSL) and base all setup in my home office. I have tried connecting the phone into a separate ac outlet but that did nothing. SO far, these phones are dissapointing, to say the least. Any suggestions?
