I remember reading somewhere (here) that that you can only have one device with one phone number.

So that must imply that you can purchase another device (device as in upgrade from regular to wireless Motorola modem or v-phone..).

I have scoured the Vonage website however and come up with nothing.

don't know how it goes, but for me, i have two Vonage boxes, each with their own phone number.

i believe that coincides with what you heard Wink if two boxes had the same phone number, which would ring? not both, that's for sure.. it would be a mess, and thus isn't done..

yeah, it seems crazy that they would offer all these new devices though and not let you upgrade. I mean there must be a reason they abruptly stopped selling mine, and I am guessing it is because it sucked (which is true from my experience).

Excluding the V-phone, all other Vonage adapters that I'm aware of are capable of 2 separate lines...You have a phone port 1 and phone port 2 on the back of the devices, each capable of a separate phone numbers. So to sum it up you can have a Vonage adapter with two separate numbers.

did i misread the original post? i think i did.. yes, the above is true too...

but one phone number can only belong to one device.. but a device can have two phone numbers..

You're correct.

You can move a line from any device to any open port on any other device on your account.

nonononono, what i am saying is I want a new device all together. Right now I just have a Vonage Motorola router and I want to buy a Wireless Motorola router that Vonage also sells.

So I would keep the same phone number and only use the new device.

But I cannot figure out how how to buy the new device separately.

If you plan on purchasing the device directly from Vonage, your existing number will already be provisioned for use with the new adapter. All you have to do is unplug the old and install the new. Simple as that.
