Hi, I have a problem. My V Phone works fine on my wifes Compaq lap top and my very old Dell lap top But refuses to work on my Acer Aspire 5670. It doesnt light up when plugged in and windows recognises it as a generic usb hub and launches the hardware wizard. I have shut down my own virus/firewall and disabled windows firewall to no avail.
If I plug the V Phone in before I boot it lights up But as soon as windows starts to load the light goes out and the V Phone remains dormant. I have tried all the usual fixes But no joy. Any Ideas please |

One thing you could try is to completely remove it from the Windows device manager and then start installing again from scratch. To do this open the control panel (in classic view) then go to system and then click on the hardware tab. From here click device manager, and then locate the entry for your V-Phone. If its not labeled correctly or your not sure which entry is the V phone then plug it in with the device manager open, and it will be the new entry. Right click on the V phone entry, and then click uninstall - this will remove any drivers that have been perviously associated with the V phone, and the next time you plug it in your computer should react as if its the first time its been used with that machine.
No idea what could have caused this issue, the only thing I can think of is that maybe windows has associated an incorrect driver with the V-Phone, and this has caused it to not be recognised correctly. |

Thanks for the response. Device manager only recognizes it as an unknown device. Plus the V Phone doesn't install any drivers or so it says in the blurb.
I have decided that something is loading when windows boots that blocks the V Phone But I hhaven't a clue what. U cant watch the files load one by one like you used to be able to pre XP days Even in safe mode the race by and its not possible to see which one is causing the block
Thanks anyway |
