Anyone can please tell me the difference between SB4200 and SBV4200 cable modem. I'm wondering whether both are same.

I believe SBV4200 is
VoIP
Cable modem has Buit in Phone ports.. for using as a combo cable modem +
voip
phone with your cable provider having combo features...
SB4200 is a regular modem..
Hope this answers your question

The Motorola SB4200 is either DOCSIS 1.0 or 1.1, it has revisions of both so just the model number isn't enough to say in this case. The easiest way to find out for your particular modem is to navigate to
http://192.168.100.1.
This will take you to the config page for the SB4200. Click on the help tab and you will see a software version in the top left corner.
If it says - SB4200-1.4.8.4-SCM01-NOSH - It is DOCSIS 1.1
If it says - 0.4.3.3p or 0.4.4.0p - It is DOCSIS 1.0

Post subject: compatibility
I found somewhere on this forum that SB4200 has some known issue with voice over ip service.. but now I couldn't find that link anymore !
So.. Is SB4200 Docsis version 1.1 cable modem compatible for
vonage
connection ?
