Hi, I have the current setup:

Cable Modem> Vonage Router (the one stated in title)> Computer

Recently I have been having weird problems with my internet. I can't browse to certain sites, that's the only problem. The weird part is there are some sites that just WILL NOT display (never, ziltch, not happening), then there are sites that won't display if www. is in front of the URL, then sites that are "on-off" (as I have created the term for this): they will display fine, then for 20 minutes or so will not display, then won't display with www. in the URL, then will be fine again.

This is not only preventing me from viewing several sites, it is severely annoying. I contacted my ISP before this and they told me all was well with my modem, but they pinged my IP and got 350ms or something.

Everything was cool for 2+ weeks with this router, now this, and I'm not sure what is causing it.

Just for giggles, open up a command prompt and do an "ipconfig /all" and look where it says DNS Servers. Using that info, go into your network connection on the PC, and alter the properties of the TCP/IP connection. It'll be the first tab, once you select it at the bottom. Enter the two IP addresses, apply all, then try to browse those sites. I suppose it's possible that the router is not passing the DNS info to your PC, and you may need to force it like that. Let us know what you find.

The first thing to try would be to hook your modem directly into your computer and bypass your Vonage device. If you still have the same problems then obviously it would be a problem with your ISP and not the router. Post the results from that experiment. Sounds to me like it could be a problem with the DNS servers that your ISP uses.

I did that right after posting here, still had the problem. Then I realized, URL problems while browsing = DNS. I called my ISP, they said they weren't having any problems on their end, but could give me specified DNS servers to try out, I enter the two DNS servers and all was fixed (no problems my arse lol).

Thanks for the replies though, I prematurely thought it was the Vonage device. In all, I did get one thing fixed though, lag in games is non-exisitant now that my computer has high priority and is DMZ ^_^
