Well, Vonage sent the wrong box the first time around. So I call and ask for a new one. a WIRELESS one like the sales rep said when I first signed up. SO, I wanted to check online and make sure that's what i'm getting this time. It says I'm getting the Linksys Reconditioned RT31P2RB Device sent to me. I don't see that anywhere in the equipment list. anyone else have this? Is it wireless? is it any good? the "reconditioned" part makes me think used. Will it be good enough anyway or more likely to have problems?
I know, that's quite a few questions all at once. Anything you know about it would be great, I'm just too impatient to wait the few days for it to get here if they're only sending me the wrong thing again.
Thanks.

The RT31P2 is a good device, but it's not wireless. I don't know about the RB suffix, but I doubt that it changes that. |

The RB suffix just denotes that it is a refurbished device. As you postulated earlier this does imply that the device is used, however it should be in good working order. Also, as you already found out the RT31P2 is not a wireless device. The wireless devices that Vonage carries at the moment are the Motorola VT2542 and the D-Link VWR. If they are going to be sending you an older refurbished device then the list of wireless grows to include the WRTP54G, and WRT54GP2. If they are sending you anything other than what I just listed, it is not a wireless device. |

What did they promise you when you signed up? My friend originally bought a phone adapter at a store. He called to sign up and the agent told him he could get a new wireless router (I forget the model since I use a PAP2 and haven't looked at the list). Well, his first shipment from Vonage was one of these rebuilt units and not the wireless router he was told he would get. He called them back and they sent him the wireless device. I talked to him today and he is happy. He number is porting today. At least they made it right when he called back. I noticed he had the agents name at Vonage which he originally talked to. I guess that is a good idea. I originally signed up on the website in 2005 so I have never talked to a Vonage agent. |

they said we could get a new wireless one for free with signing up for a new account. then they sent a new one that's not wireless. Then i got an email saying they're going to ship a reconditioned linksys. Then i got another email saying they'd just shipped some Other one, a Dlink VWR (VWsomething...) so i have NO idea what i'm going to be getting in the mail in the next few days! if they screw this up again i'll probably just send it all back and cancel. i'm willing to pay a little more for better service AND the right product, but bad service And getting it wrong time after time just isn't worth it to me. |
