If a Vonage user forwards calls to a mobile or BT landline what CallerID pops up at the receiving end - the Vonage account number or the original inbound caller ? Phil |

If you have diverted your Vonage number to your bt line for example. Anyone calling to your Vonage number will be displayed on your BT phone with an extra 0
Eg if 01990-255355 calls your Vonage number it will appear on your BT line as 001990-255355, this is handy because you'll know which calls are being diverted. |

I don't think it's handy; it's a damned nuisance: it means your phone doesn't display the name of the caller!
But full marks for presenting a failure in the system as a benefit |

Yes I suppose it is annoying if your caller display shows "names" instead of numbers. Perhaps if the system displayed "diverted call" for a few seconds before whoever it was calling, without the extra 0 present. |

I'm not sure I need to know the call's been diverted; much more important to know who's ringing, and preferably by their name rather than number. |

The original number should show as the caller id not your Vonage number. In the UK Caller ID with Name is not a standard network function whereas it is in the US. |

I understand that. It's the phone that looks up the number and displays the name; however, it can't do that if Vonage puts an extra 0 in front of it.
The extra 0 has been admitted as a fault by Vonage, but they've done nothing about it. |

It's actually illegal to transmit a caller ID that's not returnable to the original caller. Try returning a call with this "handy feature" of an extra zero tacked on and you'll be dialling an international number. ALL my calls to mobiles, diverted or not, have this extra zero added, and if anybody tries to reply they get a fax machine in Sao Tome. They also get charged for an international call as the call is actually terminating somewhere.
As another poster has noted, Vonage have refused to do anything about it, stating that all the mobile companies in the UK are at fault rather than them. |

This is still a problem and I've been talking to tech for 4 days about it now without any real forward progress. Seems to me that it is the country code that has been dropped. ie 0207xxxxx should present as 0044207xxxxxx. But if within coutry then it could present as 0207xxxxx as it would be possible to return the call. |
