Hello everyone, I have just opened my brand new Vonage, I plugged it to a 220VAC, it didnt work at all... Then, I realised that I have connected to the wrong voltage.. However, I got an adapter 220v to 110, 50 Hz, 23W .. I thought it wouldnt light any LED, but the case is like the following, I connect the device to the power outlet, I get a green LED on .. 5 seconds, this LED light fades away !! So, does anyone know what the problem is.. ? How can I solve it please ?
Thanks.. |

How did you plug it into a 220 outlet, those plugs are different unless you used an adapter and it didn't have a converter on it.
I guess you can wait until you get back to North America and try it out. |

What country are you in? North America outlets are not 220. I have a converter that I take with me to Europe that has the correct plug to attach to the device I want to use and then converts it to 220. |

Madhoun, I presume u are in UK? The adaptor on your Vonage device should automatically be set to 220/240V, I have never had to change the voltage with any of my Vonage devices, the plug/adaptor automatically selects voltage. I would suggest that you call Vonage and put this problem to them, surely they will be able to help you.....if the device is faulty then they will replace it free of charge as ur still in warranty if your a new customer. Their number is 0800 008 6000. |

What model adapter did you get? Is the power supply a multi-voltage type, i.e., 100-240v 50/60 Hz? (Check the label.) Can you test the output of your power supply with a voltmeter? Can you try another power supply?
If the power supply is putting out the correct voltage, your adapter must have problems and Vonage should help you. If the power supply isn't putting out the right voltage AND it is a multi-voltage type, Vonage shold still be able to help you. If the power supply is not a multi-voltage type, be prepared to buy another set-up. |
