The standard announcement has your greeting then a Vonage prompt to hit #, then it asks several more questions and prompts you a second time to hit # to send your voicemail message. Is there anyway of getting rid of the second set of prompts so when someone hits # the first time the message is sent and you are finished? |

I have the same exact question. I just signed up for Vonage today and was so jazzed... but when I had my hubby call in to the voicemail system he freaked out when he found out callers would have to press # and then stay on the line and listen to the list of options and press # a second time to actually send the message.
Any way to disable this so that simply hanging up after the message is recorded will send it? Otherwise I'm going to have a mighty pissed off hubby to deal with lol.
Thanks. |

My away around it was to disable the Vonage voicemail and set call forwarding to ring both my Voange and cell phone lines at the same time. This way all calls go to my cell phone voicemail. |

What on earth? People calling me don't have to do that. You just leave your message and then hang up... message gets delivered. |

Hmmm... very odd indeed. I wonder if maybe my voicemail prompt will change once the adapter is delivered and setup and all. For now it's just my temp number with no adapter. But at the moment when you call the temp number the caller has to press # twice to send the message.
Interesting... I'll have to keep an eye on it. Thanks for the responses. |

What exactly does yours say? Mine says:
"Hello you've reached... blah blah my message.....record your message at the tone when you are finished press pound, to cancel press *"...
So I guess it DOES say to pres #... but you don't HAVE to.. just hang up... I didn't think anyone actually followed those instructions.... I assumed people just hung up (I always do). |

Very interesting... I just did a test and the results were different than last night. I guess maybe it was a temporary glitch or perhaps my account wasn't quite setup yet, dunno. Maybe it just didn't like my hubby lol. Either way it seems to be working ok now and picks up the messages even if the caller hangs up.
Thanks for the responses. |

I have not had anyone who left me a voicemail complain about anything. I only have had a question about the womans voice that wasnt there when we just had an answering machine. We get alot of messages, so my guess is you can just hang up after the message. |
