I want to purchase a regular 2.4Ghz wirless phone that comes with a second handset so I can put that one in another room. Can this be done? |

yes it can, the base phone plugs into the vonage adapter and also a power outlet and the other phone base plugs into a power adapter. I would suggest using a 5.8 ghz phone instead, less interference. |

Agreed, especially if a wireless router is in use. |

I'm not using a wireless router, however let me through out another couple of questions. I want to use a corded desktop phone, so I can connect an older Plantronics headset that needs the old handset RJ11 connection but I still want a seperate cordless to put in another room. I know there are a few models out there like this that are not terribly expensive, however I'm not sure if they'll take my Plantronics setup and I really don't want to get rid of it because the quality is great. The other question is, most of phones come with a built in answering machine. I use my voicemail through Vonage and wouldn't want to use the telephone's answering machine. Could I simply set the pick up time on the corded phone to be longer than the Vonage and hope Vonage will pick up first? |

Yes, that should work. |

Every phone system I've ever had with a built-in answering machine has had a simple way to turn that answering machine off. Chances are, you can turn the answering machine off on your unit, then you don't have to worry about the corded answering machine picking up at all. |
