Check out the latest features that Vonage is offering. The V-Me looks pretty cool. Attach it as a signature to your email and people can call you without even knowing or seeing your number. Great way to make your self available to take calls but not having to give your number out to often. V-Fax looks like any other online fax system except this is free for Vonage users. Pretty Cool!!! Check it out here.

Thank you for this great find. I am adding it to my email signature and will be using the fax feature, since I don't have a fax machine. I will have to do a test at work. |

I couldn't find it in the V-Me "Help" section -- do those who "call" me from another area code using V-Me get charged for a long-distance call? I wouldn't think they could, if the call was incoming for them, but phone companies have been using phone bills like credit cards for years now, so I'm not taking any chances. |

I am not sure on that. I tried it from my cell phone and the number came up as an 877 number on the cell phone. I tried it from my soft phone account and it came up as the name I chose on the V-Me page.
I will called tech support and ask the question, but since I am in Canada this feature isn't supported by their tech support. I then called tech support in the U.S, I asked the question and was put on hold, or shall I say got disconnected. I called back but waited to long on hold. I will try again soon. |

I tried v-fax two times, and it failed with a com error to my PSTN fax. It is still in alpha so I wouldn't expect to much from it. |

I'd say no. Instead, your Vonage account gets charged for the minutes (if you're on the 500 minute plan) where normal incoming calls don't count against your minutes. |

I haven't had any luck with the fax, but it may be the junky fax machine I have on the receiving end. I won't have a chance to try call-me until later. Wow. Vonage is getting on the creative end of things. Nice going. Notice that things like the "call me" is a great feature that will be difficult for the PSTN to match. Don't tell Verizon. They'll pay off somebody in the government and patent it.
I think we owe a big "thank you" to Vonage for letting us see these upcoming features. We have to remember these are trial features and we are providing constructive feedback to help them. As they would say on Hee Haw, "Saaaa-Looot" |

These are nice; innovative, even, but I'm still dying for something that should be easy in comparison to program: the ability to schedule call forwarding or simul-ring to be on for a set time every day...say while I'm at work, maybe?
Heck, I'd settle for a link to the Vonage site in the voicemail alerts, so I can save a few clicks when I go to delete the message. How hard is that? |
