I have read within this forum that with the D-Link VTA there are problems with the Caller ID function, (it seems that Vonage are sending these devices out at present), Does anyone that has a Linksys PAP2 have these problems?

Also if I purchase a PAP2T-NA via a retail store...I have to supply the MAC address etc within Vonage site to register it...with registering the device, does it then lock this device to Vonage? If so, is there anypoint in buying an Unlocked device? If this is the case, I might as well just request a Linksys PAP2 from Vonage themselves surely...?

If I buy a PAP2T-NA, do I set it up first, for example change the access password so that Vonage, cannot lock it down? Then register it...obviously I need the correct settings from Vonage to set it up...I presume I have to register the device to able to get these settings? Could anyone advise?

Vonage on the whole is going to be cheaper for me, but I just don't want to buy the wrong device whether this be a PAP2v1 or a PAP2T-NA...I would prefer it to have the reset button, so if things do go wrong I can reset it all...obviously with this said I would think the PAP2T-NA is the choice...but I just want to confirm whether there are any further issues with the device before I buy one, get one through Vonage...if anyone has any suggestions...please let me know...

I can't comment on the other devices you mentioned, but I received a D-Link VTA from direct from Vonage a few months ago and my caller ID works fine - I've been very happy with the device and would recomend it to anyone (especially as its free). One thing I especially like about it is it's size, it really is tiny and very easy to hide. Also, it dosen't come with a bulky plug, which I always look on as being a bonus.
