I am wondering if I do a 3-Way call and one of the numbers is in the U.K, will this still be a free call? Next question, since I have never done 3-Way calling if I do the 3-Way call and after talking for a few minutes and I disconnect will the other 2 people lose the connection? |

Landline calls to the UK are free regardless if it is a 3-way call or not. It is my understanding that if you make a call to a cell phone number in the UK is when you are charged.
If you, "roscopco" initiate the 3-way call and the connection drops, the other 2 people will also lose the connection.
I also see that if I you make a call to a party that also has 3-way calling capabilites, you can have as many as 6 people on the phone at one time.

Darrell is correct. As long as each person has 3 way calling, you can add as many calls as you would like. Just keep in mind that the more you have, you may have audio issues. |

The reason I was asking is my in-laws have relatives in the U.K I thought if I initiated the 3 way call to her in Newfoundland and then over to the U.K I could let them talk.
I thought this would be an option since I can't call forward to the U.K. |

You can transfer a call with #90 and they can talk. But don't abuse it or we'll lose it. |

Thanks for letting me know about the transfer. I tried it from my softphone, but forgot to include the area code 44.
I won't be abusing this feature. I wonder how many people actually use call transfer. |

If you do it from your softphone you will most likely be charged. If you look under the international rates to the UK on Vonage's site it says 4 cents per minute for all plans except the unlimited plan(which is free). The softphone gives you 500 minutes per month, so its not unlimited(no unlimited plan offered on softphone) and therefore you get charged 4 cents a minute to call or transfer to the UK. Now even when you transfer a call it continues to eat your minutes until it is completed. So, if you call one party and transfer then to the UK, you are deducting from your minute pool. This means that you could potentially be paying 3.9cents a minute overage for domestic call and 4 cents a minute for the international call at the same time, which would quickly add to your monthly bill. |
