My broadband connection is in the garage and I use a Dlink wireless router to blanket the house. I'd like to hook up the ATA in a different part of the house, can I plug it into a wireless bridge? The Dlink bridge has a single port but that would be enough.
Thanks Dale |

Hi Dale: Some people have reported great success, some had issues.
It is not the recommended setup by Vonage.
Does the Dlink have an available Ethernet port?
Why not hard wiring the ATA directly to it and either use (1) a cordless with the base in the garage or (2) hard the ATA to the house phone wiring from the garage?
If #2 is a workable solution, then you will need to make sure that the pair that you choose to use for your wiring to the ATA is totally disconnected from the local telco; otherwise the voltage from the local will fry the ATA.
I hope this helps, |

I decided to try this and purchased a DLink 810 bridge. It's extremely simple to configure and use. I took the ATA & bridge down stairs, plugged it in and everything works fine. |

Just remember, the security issue with a bridge... Anyone can walk by and get your data stream and with the right tools decode your phone conversations. Its basic network securtiy, no different then anything else travelling across a wireless brige |
