The ACB works good from my testing. I noticed a call got through with "unknown" as the name and "Unknown Number" for the number on the caller-id. I guess this doesn't necessarily imply a caller-id blocked call though.

Since "unknown" can be a legit call (caller-id info not availble, int'l call, etc.), it won't be blocked.

I had a feeling that was the case; so I just let those calls go to voicemail.

OK .. finally had a chance to verify it .. 1st line - Private name
2nd line - Private Number

This is the same way it was prior to activating. I also had someone call that their number always came up private (verizon) and it was still the same way, so it is not a cingular problem. Maybe it's an area code problem. - I'm in the 854 area code so if someone else is in the same area code I would be curious if ACB works for them.

I was told Private Name was being blocked but it would be nice to see the SIP trace on your line and the actual INVITE coming in. I was told there were some additions to the list so try it out now and see if Private Number is being blocked.

Is anyone getting the message, after *77, that anonymous call blocking cannot be updated, or after the checking status message comes through, just silence?

Do not disturb seems to be having trouble as well.

Does this work? Could you block an "anonymous" call really? How about international calls? Aren't these calls sometimes "anonymous" too? There is no knowing, is there?

Eek

Now I want the ability to block specific numbers . . . like this one who called yesterday.

YES! I'm not listed, and yet I've been getting calls from a couple of numbers recently that showed up as marketers/scammers on sites like whocalled.us! I'd LOVE to be able to block those numbers.

Works very well actually. Int'l calls mostly come in as "unknown" and I don't know of any cases where they come in as "anonymous". "uknown" calls are not blocked.

The caller ID display shows "Anonymous" and "unknown" yet the damn call still gets through. Vonage, you are an absolute joke.

I guess you forgot that they are allowing forum users to try out the new feature before it is formally rolled out. I suspect there will be some hiccups and they are allowing us to help them with constructive feedback. There are so many variations on "Caller ID" and so many people's opinions on what should or should not be blocked that I now understand why Vonage hesitated until now.
