you should know that if you're using a router, Voip or NOT, USB should not be envolved. just check if your ethernet card (the one that connects the Vonage to the computer with the RJ45 wire) is correctly installed and functioning, that's it. |

I have the basic setup...HP comp, Webstar cable modem (from Cox)and the basic"kit" from Vonage. I was running my system with the USB line until I setup V, then switched over to the Ethernet(rj45), you know, the blue and yellow cables. And as I said it worked, but for a very short time. I also ran the test and everything is good. |

you should have cable line into your cable modem. From there rj45 from cable modem to Vonage adapter and then rj45 to your computer. I know some cable modems allow to connect usb, but with Vonage that isn't an option. |

Did you call Vonage and make sure your Vonage adapter is being recognized by them? Also when hooking up the equipment make sure it is all turned off and once hooked up turn on cable modem, then Vonage adapter and then computer. |

Which Vonage box do you have? If I understand correctly, you're setting things up using ethernet cables rather than the USB port on the modem, which is the correct way to do things, but you get no internet. Is that correct? When this happens, do you get phone service? Can you log on to the Vonage router from the computer? |
