if it doesnt work doing a hard reset, try to:
log inside the device... open an internet explorer page, and go to the address http://192.168.15.1, log in typing router as username and router as password. Go to TOOLS.>RESET.>RESET (it's resetting or rebooting the voice part of the device)
then powercycle the device... that should work. |

What do you mean by "hard reset"?
I woke up this morning too to a solid red light for the power indicator on my Vonage router.
What I did then was to shut down my pc, unplug the Vonage device and unplug my TWC cable modem. Let it sit for a minute or so, then plug back in the TWC cable modem, than Vonage router and turn on PC.
That fixed the intermediate problem but now the sound is so terrible and choppy when I talk to the other person. I can hear them fine, but they hear all choppy/ cutting in and out, etc.
What is that about? |

hi Bozicfg and Minch!
hard reset is hitting the little button in the back of the device that says RESET, and pressing it for about 20 or 30 seconds. Then you would have to powercycle it.
ah! and Bozicfg... are you using a surge protector? do you have the device connected into the same powerstrip as the computer's screen, for example? my advise would be connecting it straight to the wall outlet to avoid any interferences.
see ya! |

red power light indicates no internet connection. a couple of things that might work would be a MAC address clone on the router, assigning a static IP address, and, of course, power cycling the entire device chain, from your modem back to the last device in your network. |
