For the past two weeks, I have experienced growing problems wiht my vonage service. This is intolerable, because I use it for my business. I used to bragg about the cost advantages and the technological "wow" of it all, but it looks like I am the dumb one in the end. Vonage you have let me down!!!!!!
The main problem is that when I call out, the call recipient is unable to hear my voice. This is now happening with virtually every call. I am now being relegated to using my cell phone...
I just hope Vonage transfers my numbers promptly. Does anyone know whether I will be able to transfer my vonage-issued toll free number? |

It really is unfortunate, because believe me, I have been a major vonage evangelist. I have had the service since February of 2004 and it has always been great.
I have not spoken with tech support...I am assuming they will be impossible to reach.
I have about two different vonage routers connected directly to the internet through comcast and it is happening with both of them. |

The HBB1 is a great device. Do you have all ports properly forwarded and allowed through any firewall that may be present between the vonage device and internet? |

Great advice. Find out if anything changed at Comcast to lower your bandwidth (if they will admit it). Try running the communications tests posted on this site. In fact, I would advise everyone to run the tests and save the results so you can have a conversation with your ISP when (notice I didn't say "if") they change your service. My cable ISP has been great and I hope they stay great. But they do have a large "plant" and may make changes. |

I use the Hawking Booster too. Ever since I started using the booster all of my problems went away. I have no problems with Vonage other than the fact that I had to get a seperate digital cable phone line for reliable faxing. |

if the person that you are calling cant hear you, then there maybe a problem with your download speed. a few test that you can do is of course a speed test, a ping test, and a trace route to see if there are any spikes in your bandwidth. |

No, this would indicate a problem with his _upload_ speed.
