Hello, I have family in Ahmedabad. I would like to send them a Vonage box and then be able to call them for free. Is this something that people in this forum are successfully doing? If so, are there "catches" to be aware of, or is it pretty straightforward? I will be sending the box with a relative, and so one of my cousins there will have to install it. She is not very techie, so will I run into issues? Please advise, happy diwali to all! |

Vonage, to my knowledge, does not support sending a box outside the US.
With this, you will have to set-up both accounts for yourself, here, and then send outside the US.
Beware that some countries "frown" against Voip, so make sure to take all precautons, as needed. |

Yes some countries do frown upon it. Especially China and its monopoly and control over information exchange. Your Vonage will work however. As long as the ISP is not blocking ports
69 5061 (5060 for the softphone) and 10000-20000
If so forget it. If not ENJOY!
