Hi Folks: I have two questions issues and will be glad if you either give me a straight answer or point me in a proper direction (in terms of what to search for)[Apologies if this has been asked before] 1. I am abroad on work most of the time and have a Vonage connection at home in the US. I want to do the following: Have my Vonage number call me at a UK (abroad) and connect me to another (US) number. I looked at c2c but that is only initiating a call to my Vonage number (as far as I read). So I want to use my Vonage to make US to UK call while abroad. Is there way to do this (even if I have to buy a device to do it).
2. What are my options to create a Vonage to PSTN bridge? (I want to dial a Vonage phone I have left in South Africa and use it to call locally in SA using a connected local (SA) PSTN phone line. Is it possible and what are my options? (Software/Hardware/Links/SearchTerm)
Thanks a million.

Tony, welcome to the forum. To answer your first question, it's possible. I would order a v-phone, it's basically a phone adapter on a usb stick that you can use on any computer/laptop that has an internet connection. Next, I would set up my home Vonage number to call forward to the desired UK number. Then lastly, I would call my home Vonage number which would in turn call the UK number.
If you have the unlimited minutes plan, a call to the UK is free. Another option is to purchase a PAP2 and enable it as your home adapter (you can do this on the Vonage website by logging into your account and choose to use your PAP2 as your device) whenever you are away and use it in the UK to make all your calls so long as you have a high speed internet conneciton.

I don't think this is possible but I am not the expert on this type of question. I have never heard of anyone trying this on this forum. |
