I am currently using the D-Link adapter. I'm wanting to connect my D-Link to the entire house's telephone outlets provided in every room. That way I'm not stuck with using only one phone but rather make use of the entire house being wired with RJ45. My patch panel contains only RJ45 connections and using the Vonage adapter means I'd have only one working phone. My cable internet and computer are in close proximity to the patch panel. Is there any type of wiring to go from RJ11 to RJ45. This way I can pick up a phone call upstairs with having to carry the main phone everywhere. Thanks. |

You can plug an RJ-11 connector into an RJ-45 jack. No adapter required. Make sure the house wiring is disconnected from the phone company first. For more information view the threads in the hardwiring forum. |

Stephen is correct. An rj45 jack is designed to take either another rj45 or an rj11. The rj11 plug will not take up all the space but the clip will still catch the rj45 jack. There is no need for an adapter of any kind. |

Or, in this case, make sure your RJ-45 plugs are not connected to any Ethernet hubs. Those'll burn out a Vonage adapter in a hurry, too!
Whatever plugs you use, just make sure your Vonage adapter is the only thing feeding any sort of signal to them. |
