"vonage has 24/7 customer service and technical support to help us if we have service trouble."
Honestly, if that service was decent and reliable, as it should be, this forum would be very boring. Unfortunately for customers, this forum is pretty popular.

Hallelulah! NavyDavy
No one has yet to point to facts for a good reason to stay. Yes, you all say (supposedly) that you have had good service. Maybe you don't have anything to compare against for what constitutes "good service" so you think, outages here and there are okay. Well.....it is not.
Sticking with them because they have been around is a biase not based on facts, service history, future service reliability. Having technical service 24/7, come on......that is a joke and you know it. Just because they state it doesn't mean anything, that is not reliable. Cost - that has gotten alot better all around and you aren't saving as much as now as you did back when by using
Vonage
.
So....again....why should someone even switch to
Vonage
or stay? They have outages, lately it has been almost a daily occurance, customer service stinks (long waits, etc), they are currently priced along with other similar providers.....
Hmmmm.......

The reason I am staying with
Vonage
.
Preconditions:
Everything is working, I haven't been affected by any outages.
Vonage
offers me services I can't get from most other forms of phone companies, specifically a phone number in a different area code and voicemail by email.
My
Vonage
service is valuable to me.
Assumptions:
Switching phone companies would be painful (new equipment, multiple number transfers).
I would incur upfront expenses or long term contracts.
There is no guarantee service would be any better than
Vonage
(no industry oversight, most recent quality studies still rank
Vonage
as best).
Concerns:
Vonage
is test case for patent issues, if
Vonage
can't prevail nobody will.
Vonage
is the largest non-ISP provider, if they can't operate a profitable business then how can the smaller providers.
Am I so sold on
Vonage
that I wouldn't switch? No, I just have not experienced enough pain that the effort of researching other companies and considering contracts or upfront costs makes any sense. That is, I don't have a good reason to stay, I just don't have any reason not to.

I am shocked to hear about the quality of service you're getting from
Vonage
! I have been with
Vonage
for about 1 year and I have had no major problems with my phone service. The only times I have been completely without phone service were when my cable was down. Of course, this had nothing to do with
Vonage
. The biggest concerns involving
Vonage
were with my Linksys router and my fax line. However,
Vonage
replaced the router and made some adjustments on their end to improve the dependability of my fax line. To me, there is no difference in the sound quality of my
Vonage
service than with my old land lines. In fact, the
Vonage
line quality may even be better! Perhaps before deciding to leave, you could give the technical support team another chance to make some adjustments. Like some of the
Vonage
customers, I switched primarily for the cost. Now, I am glad that I did because I am really getting super quality service at a much lower cost. I do not intend to voluntarily leave
Vonage
and I hope this Verizon mess doesn't force
Vonage
to dump me.

have some little faith w/
Vonage
. with all these outages, i strongly believe that there are reasons behind it. i just have strong feelings that
Vonage
will be coming up w/ big changes - might be currently upgrading their system/servers now.

If you're not going to bother to read posts, why bother posting? I have several reasons why I'm staying with
Vonage
.

Vonage
is there to save you money with technology that is maturing. If you feel you are loosing money and you can loose less somewhere else, then by all means switch.

what can i say "roscopco" is right flattop, people dont post it nor acknowledge it when the service theyre getting is great. it is human nature to whine and to point the weakness of something rather than the good thing.
hopefully
Vonage
can still manage to pull this through coz its not convenient to find another phone provider
