At this time some customers are experiencing intermittent issues making and receiving calls. This also may affect calling features such as Call forwarding, Voicemail, etc. Our engineers are aware of the issue and are working towards resolving it as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience in this matter and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Symptoms here include incoming calls going to secondary network outage number, and no dialtone (I get the RTP recording) in the house.

I have been making calls and receiving calls in the Carolinas all evening with no problems.

Region has absolutely nothing to do with the type of outage they have been having. Your phone number connects to a server in one of their locations. There are only a few locations where they have "proxy" servers, and what server you are connecting to is not bound by your region at all. It is these servers that your device is registering to that Vonage has been reporting down over the past few days(weeks now?). Even if you have two numbers, they can be pointed to different proxy servers, so during a recent outage you could see one number down and one up, even if they are on the same device. So, you could be up and running and your neighbor could be down. Just depends on what server your number got assigned to when it was added.

Luckily I have yet to be effected by a service outage myself(as far as I know, not checking my phone all the time). From reading about it though, it seems that have been having these problems ever since they started talking about workaround for the Vonage patent disputes. Maybe whatever they changed didn't really work out the way the wanted to as I don't remember such frequent outages before all of this. It does seem that they aren't reporting any issues at the moment though, as that service message has been removed from my web account so you should probably be back up(hopefully).
