Post subject: Vonage through ISA Server 2000 - No sound
Hi,
I'm trying to get
Vonage
to work through my ISA server 2000. I'm 99% sure I know where the problem is I just don't know the best way to solve it.
I've created protocol definitions and packet filters for all the required ports but I believe its the UDP 10k-20k range (with no constant single primary port) thats causing the problem (I get a dial tone, I can make calls but get no sound).
I've searched the web and the solution appears to be to either only open up a few ports within that range (discovered by packet sniffing - and risk the device picking different ports in the future) or to use a script to create (I assume) a protocol definition to open all of the 10k-20k ports as primary or of course upgrade to ISA 2004 which supports protocol definitions with a port range as the primary connection.
Unfortunately putting the
Vonage
device in front on my ISA is not an option as I only have a single IP address and don't really want to put a NAT device in front of ISA (as this basically defeats the point of having ISA and also may impact some of the other services I have running through ISA
