am workin with
Vonage
tech support// i got the same issue tat when the cust use the vt2142.vd in his nw // he is unable to go online// done with dmz no go// i wanna know how to overcome this issue//

First of all this problem is pretty simple. If PC cant get online by itself without the
Vonage
router then PC is the problem.
If it can then reset the
Vonage
device by holding the reset button in on the back for 10 seconds and make sure you set everything up correctly with the minimum amount of possible interference. For instance, no other routers in front of the
Vonage
device.
Modem--->Vt2142-->PC
If nothing can still be done you may be wasting your time trying to fix a broken unit, save yourself the aggrivation and get it replaced. Its also possible a software upgrade/downgrade may solve the issue.
