Time to face facts folks,
Vonage
is done for at some point in the next 6 months or so.
Here's a snippet from thestreet.com today:
Meanwhile, the company said that it expects to post first-quarter revenue of $195 million. Analysts project revenue of $197 million.
Vonage
also announced plans to cut annual expenses by about $140 million. The bulk of the reduction will occur in marketing expenses, but the company also plans to reduce expenses through consolidation of operations and job cuts.
So... if you thought service wasn't so great before, what's it going to be like with even less people staffed and more multitasking?
Just today, the service has been rather odd so it makes me wonder what is going on at
Vonage
.. I've had my main line LED go off and on maybe 5 or 6 times today while I was home and noticed. My fax line has stopped receiving any calls off and on giving a "The number you are calling has not been provisioned yet" Each time I think "Is that Verizon cutting off
Vonage
's interconnect?".
It's been a fun 2 years, but it's time to bail... Already filled out my LNP today, hopefully
Vonage
won't drag it out..
Good luck to you all! I still hate Verizon....

May be not directly, but we've seen the effect on the stock price, CEO leaving, cutbacks in jobs, etc etc. Youi can't tell me it's not taking a toll. Besides, sometimes the best way to take out an opponent is not by stabbing them in the chest with a knife, but by 1000 tiny cuts.

Just proves how threatened they are with
Vonage
I guess. But it's not over yet nice gurl. You won't lose your service maybe just have some other company take over what
Vonage
started.

With the CEO stepping down, there are just some people who cant stand in the middle of the battle and maybe whats happening is just too much for him. of course its taking a toll..i just cant imagine for those employees if the news was correct that
vonage
is ramping down but the most important thing is...no matter how hard their opponent fight to bring them down..
vonage
can still manage to stand tall and continue providing great service.

I don't know. The opponent has a vast, maybe never-ending, amount of resources to throw behind legal wrangling, which
Vonage
does not have. I fear for
Vonage
because Verizon is a 3-headed, fire-breathing monster, sitting on bags and bags of cash, and they won't give in until
Vonage
is either dead or acquired.

You're right bout that...sometimes its amazing how far one company would go if they feel threatened. If Verizon is as big as what it seems..why feel threatened with a
voip
service provider like
vonage
?

I don't think the CEO leaving was entirely Snyder's decision... Sounds like the other execs put some pressure on him.
According to some finance websites, and wikipedia, there were some people let go, but this would have to pertain to people actually in the company, this wouldn't affect outsourced locations. I don't think phone support will change that much.
