My Vonage router is being run directly from my comcast router, as is my network. Therefore, it is parallel to my network. My network is not runnnig any applications that suck an extraordinary amount of bandwidth.
This has now happened to me when I call people on the pstn...it has happened on calls to cellular phones and landline phones. |

Everything on your network shares the connection. Outbound/upload speed is much lower than inbound/download speed.
The issue I was persuing does not involve what's being sucked but rather whats being sent out.
Try calling another Vonage line to see if the problem happens there. If not it could also be a problem with the Vonage gateway to the pstn.

If it turns out to be the Vonage gateway to the pstn, is there anything I can do on my end to fix the problem? |

If it's a gateway problem there's not much you can do except call Vonage support :-(
This thread is "intermittent outage" - is your problem with outbound not being heard a consistant problem or does it come and go?

It's been a consistent problem. When it happens, it happens repeatedly with the same callee. |
