Leaving Vonage

Hi,
I arrived at Vonage like I'm sure a number of you via the closure of Freetalk.
I read the T&C quickly and assumed (wrongly) that the annual contract you have to take would in fact just be a continuation of my annual prepayment to Freetalk.
Well, after numerous problems many of which have been discussed online I decided to move on after serving what would have been original 12 months period with Freetalk.
Vonage insisted that in fact 12 contract started when I transferred to them and there would be termination fee should I leave. £23 I think.
However they did offer rent only of 2.29 per month until end of Aug to see out my term with any calls made charged.

Its another world outside a locked system and am looking forward to making fuller use/understanding of voip world.
To many billing and unresolved technical issues for me to stay.

So vonage have my money for the next few months but I have my freedom Very Happy

Good luck. If you're looking to save even more and you know people using Vonage, you can download Vonage Talk to talk to any Vonage customer via PC for free.

Where do I download Vonage Talk? I called tech support and they gave me 2 free months of softphone, is that the same thing?

Yes, I did get the link there, another great service from Vonage. I will keep the softphone for the 2 free months and then use the Vonage Talk. I just wanted something to use to call home for free while away from home.
