Todd, I would grab my Vonage equipment and go to a friends house who has a decent connection and try it over there. This will narrow things down for you. |

One of the above suggestions fixed my problems. I switched the power plug-ins to my Vonage router and my wireless router (both Linksys) and the buzzing and static disappeared. So glad to have that fixed. |

I'm not quite sure if this is related, but I am having a similar issue myself (a few days now): 1. Location: Maine 2. Your ISP name and type Road Runner - Cable 3. Connection Speed: 5000/384 4. Modem Type: Scientific Atlanta WebSTAR DPX2203 5. Type of Vonage adapter: Linksys RTP300 6. Setup of Network: Modem ->Linksys WRT54G->RTP300 7. Issue: Background noise/intermittent pop/static Speed test statistics --------------------- Download speed: 3253520 bps Upload speed: 369536 bps Quality of service: 97 % Download test type: socket Upload test type: socket Maximum download pause: 42 ms Average download pause: 3 ms Minimum round trip time to server: 40 ms Average round trip time to server: 70 ms Voip test statistics -------------------- Jitter: you --> server: 5.9 ms Jitter: server --> you: 11.8 ms Packet loss: you --> server: 0.0 % Packet loss: server --> you: 0.0 % Packet discards: 0.0 % Packets out of order: 0.0 % Number of supported Voip lines: 6 Estimated MOS score: 3.9 What I have tried so far: -Checked for proper power supply connection -Connect corded phone when RTP300 when was behind router (powercycled) -Connect corded phone when RTP300 is directly connected to cable modem (powercycled) -Connected Harris (Fluke) TS44DLX Butt set into RTP300 w Banjo adapter -Left only Cable modem, and RTP300 powered up. -Swapped patch cord from phone to RTP300 Issue was reproduced by all steps. I'm not sure if this is the right method to post, instead of creating a new thread. I figured that since I seem to be having similar issues, it might be best to post on this existing thread.
Edit: Now that I think of it, it seems I should have created a new thread, considering this one is from the beginning of April... |
