I have installed new Motorola VT 2142 through my existing D-Link GLB 502T ADSL 2+Router. In Internet Protocols, I have chosen "Obtain IP and DNS Server address automatically".
My Internet works OK but Phone 1 LED (without connecting Phone line into the Motorola unit) blinks with orange LED. Even if I connect the phone line in the unit, status remains same. When I lift the handset, then instead of dial tone I hear some odd sound. After a very long time of wait (may be more then 30 mins.), when I lift the handset, automated voice says that the phone line is not recognised by Vonage. Although my friend had tested this piece at his residence when we received it, so I believe that piece must be OK. It must be some issue in my connection or settings.
Has anyone faced this issue or can some one guide me please? |

Hi, if the phone light is orrange and if the dial tone breaks up and then goes steady(stutter tone) it means that you have a new voice message.
for the other problem i would ask you to post the details.

does sound like call waiting but he is getting the statement that it isn't being recognized by Vonage.
Since you are using DSL have you chosen the proper settings for DSL, the directions are different for cable and DSL. If you still have phone access, call tech support, I find they are very helpful. |
