I have installed new Motorola VT 2142 through my existing D-Link GLB 502T ADSL 2+Router. In Internet Protocols, I have chosen "Obtain IP and DNS Server address automatically".
My Internet works OK but Phone 1 LED (without connecting Phone line into the Motorola unit) blinks with orange LED. Even if I connect the phone line in the unit, status remains same. When I lift the handset, then instead of dial tone I hear some odd sound. After a very long time of wait (may be more then 30 mins.), when I lift the handset, automated voice says that the phone line is not recognised by Vonage. Although my friend had tested this piece at his residence when we received it, so I believe that piece must be OK. It must be some issue in my connection or settings.
Has anyone faced this issue or can some one guide me please? |

You'll get a better response on this one if you post it over in the VoIP forum. This forum is for home wiring issues. Include all the technical details listed in the sticky message at the top of the VoIP forum. |

If you mean one of the phone ports 1 or 2 are blinking red/orange then its telling you there is voicemail, my VT2142 does this when I have voicemail and its linked to the 'stutter tone' that you get, once they are cleared it will stop the dial tone will not stutter and the LED will turn green again. |
