The literature on your SB5120 shows schematics of both USB and ethernet working simultaneusly, so it should work. I actually take the USB output from my SGB900 into a 6 input hub, and then on to my PC, that way I have all the usb connections I need.
It's pretty funny when someone, blatantly says the USB and ethernet won't work together, and when you hook it up just like that, it doesn't work. Oh, the irony.
